Not complicated, neither heavy. Exact size. August 20, 2010 Marco Penteado (São Paulo, SP Brazil) It's not simply a common watch, specially due to the included functions as thermometer, altimeter, etc. Easy to check in the dark. Concerning time, not only precise, exact.
Tissot expert titanium June 11, 2010 billy Had this watch for about 2 months, so can't comment on the longevity of this item. I can tell you that when you first open the box you will def like what you see. It's a large but very light watch. It's kind of dull, and def not as shinny as my other stainless steel watch. It has kind of a unique finish. Be carefull as titanium scratches easily! I am thinking of buying a seperate rubber band for when I go hiking.
I read the entire manual, as the watch functions are not that intuitive. As mentioned previously, temperature is useless, altimeter can vary, but if you use the change in altimeter function, it's pretty accurate. The barometer is the coolest feature. It actually works (for me at least). I guess if you have an iphone and live in a big city, its useless, but if your going out on a hike, or international, then it comes in handy.
I disagree with some of the other reviewers, I LOVE the 2nd time zone function. I travel a lot and it was cool to have the local time in the digital display and the time back home on the analog or vice versa. Use it a lot.
Havn't use the chronograph much. Also havn't tested it in the water yet.
Bottom line. Very Very cool watch. Some cool features. Worth $800....hmmmmm.... If you don't mind wearing a casio, the pathfinder might be the nitty gritty type of watch you can bang around on a hike, but I am a little more refined!
"T" in T-Touch Expert = "Terrific!" June 2, 2010 Gort (San Jose, CA) I received the T-Touch Expert (T013.420.44.202.00) about a month ago, and I haven't been sorry in the least! I've been looking for a good quality, analog/digital combo watch for quite some time when I came across the Tissot. Certainly, I was curious about its features (compass, chrono, altimeter, meteo, alarm, and thermo), but I was impressed with its design, did some research, and finally decided to get the watch. I love it! Light, attractive, and functional; I find myself using the alarm and chrono features often, as well as the compass (which is scarily accurate!). I've gone on several long hikes, and the compass is a welcomed piece of equipment. The azimuth is right on, and it's delightful to use (once the azimuth is set, the watch digitally points the way and beeps when you're on the right heading; fantastic!). When traveling, I use the two time zones function, and have found it quite useful. I also don't tire of showing off the watch to family and friends!
But I do have a few nits: The watch doesn't have a second hand, although I've quickly gotten used to it, and it would've been great to have the day of the week displayed with the date (it shows the month, day, and year). Also, the thermo (temperature) gauge is only accurate after you've taken the watch off for 10 to 15-minutes in order to get an accurate reading. Not a big deal (and understandable), though. Other than that, I really do think this is a terrific watch!
Nice gadget, accurate watch, some features not very usefull April 19, 2010 Dalibor Petrovic I own a T-Touch Expert for almost a year now. It took me a while to make a decision and pay ~$800 for a watch. From my point of view it's a lot of money, and if I wasn't a gadget-freak blown away by the touch screen feature, I probably wouldn't be writing this review now. Was it worth it? I am not really sure.
CONS
First of all, I'd like to start by saying that I read the entire manual before I started using the watch. Even though this is not something that I normally do, I wanted to make sure that I won't miss out on any feature that the watch offers, no matter how insignificant. After playing around with different features for a few weeks, I ended up using it as i would use any wrist watch - mainly to see the time and date. The touch screen is nice to show off, but does not really add any value to the whole experience once you get enough of it. Altimeter and thermometer are more or less useless, since the altitude may vary more than 1000 meters depending on the atmospheric conditions, and temperature reading normally reflects the temperature of your arm. Taking the watch off for half an hour to get an accurate temperature reading is not really handy unless you are at your home, as you may end up leaving the watch behind somewhere. I also couldn't find any use of the two timezones feature, even though I travel a lot and expected that this would be something I could take advantage off.
PROS
On the good side, I went swimming a few times with the watch on, and had no issues whatsoever. Chronometer, compass and alarm work OK, as well as the meteo option, although I can't confirm how accurate its weather predictions are. It's a big watch and I hit quite a few things with it over the last year, but it survived all the poor treatment from my end.
Final verdict - yes, the watch is nice, very light for its size, looks very elegant, and it serves its primary purpose. As long as you are not expecting too much from the advanced features that it is so famous for - you'll be OK. However, if your aim is getting functionality and accuracy at low cost - think twice, you might be able to get the same functionality (minus touch screen and useless thermometer and altimeter) for half the money.
Almost perfect ! April 9, 2010 Andreas H. Stern (Porto Alegre,RS-BRAZIL) Strong, beautiful men watch !
The only bad principal thing -> The watch does not have Week day display nor hour chime, that's a pitty else it would be 100%( all Casio do...), but it is beatiful, so compensates !
